We all have our own personal reasons for thrifting. We hear them everyday from customers. But what if you are new to thrifting? Why should you start?
1) Saving money: As our clothing is all thrifted, our price is at least 60% lower than retail. Often we do have items that are also new with tags, but at a fraction of the price.
2) Know what you're getting: Second hand does not always mean old or used. We personally inspect every piece of clothing that is in the store, they are then washed and inspected again. When we price the clothing you will often see if there is a tiny imperfection, or if something has pockets. We would never put something on the floor we would not wear ourselves.
3)The environment: Our landfills are full of used clothing. When you thrift, you are saving the water, pesticides from entering the environment and landfills. It takes 400 gallons of water just to make ONE cotton t-shirt. There’s also all the pesticides that are often used to grow cotton, which can contaminate ground and surface water, leading to soil acidification and agricultural run-off that can disrupt ecosystems.
4) What's old is new again: Often styles come back into style. What is better then finding the original version of something? Curvy Britches owner Katelyn has worked hard to curate a selection of current styles, designer plus size items, as well as vintage.
5) The thrill of the deal: Who DOESN'T get a high when they find the perfect item they were looking for, or a designer piece they never thought they could afford. We are here to make your dreams come true and partake in the thrill with you!
6) We got your size: Nothing is more disheartening then walking into a store and not having your size. At Curvy Britches our whole store is size 12 and up! We will have something to fit all our plus size girlies. As well, our dressing room is huge to allow you to feel comfortable.
